Havells India Limited plans to set up a new air conditioner manufacturing facility at Sri City, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, with an annual capacity of 560,000 units and an estimated investment of Rs. 250 crore.

Havells India decided to shift its switchgears production capacity from Guwahati (Assam) to its existing facilities at Baddi (Himachal Pradesh) to benefit from synergy. The announcement was made on 1 October 2020.

Havells India plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore over the next few years to strengthen its product portfolio and manufacturing facilities, including Rs 600 crore for brownfield expansions across several Indian plants.

Havells India will invest about Rs 400 crore to set up a greenfield facility for Lloyd air-conditioners in Rajasthan, with a capacity of 600,000 ACs per year, expected to start commercial production in a couple of months.

Havells India entered into an agreement with Hyundai Electric & Energy Systems for technology know-how and a license to manufacture and market magnetic contactors under the Havells brand. Havells will also invest about ₹64 crore in brownfield expansion of its Sahibabad plant.

Havells India plans to invest Rs 300 crore in the current financial year to expand its manufacturing base, including setting up a new unit in Karnataka for cables, wires, solar lights and other electronics. The company also plans a unit in Assam and is scouting for acquisitions.

Havells India Ltd will set up its first plant near Changsari in Kamrup district, Assam, to manufacture switchgears. The company plans to invest around Rs 300 crore in capital expenditure in the current financial year across Assam and Karnataka, with the Assam plant expected to start production soon.

Havells India Limited announced the acquisition of Lloyd Consumer Durable Business Division from Lloyd Electrical and Engineering Limited and Fedders Lloyd Corporation Limited at an enterprise value of Rs 1,600 crore. The deal marks Havells' entry into air-conditioners and washing machines.
