Nantong Xingchen's new-generation plant of 30,000 t/y polyphenylene ether (PPE) started up and is running. The project, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan, began construction in August 2018 and brings Bluestar's total PPE capacity to 50,000 t/y, ranking No. 2 in the world.

Asahi Kasei and China National Bluestar have established joint ventures in Nantong, China, for production and sale of modified polyphenylene ether (mPPE) and its intermediates. Capacity will be 30,000 tonnes/year of PPE and 20,000 tonnes/year of mPPE.
