Ardagh Group completed the merger of its Food & Speciality can business with Exal Corporation to create Trivium Packaging, jointly controlled by Ardagh and the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board. The deal was completed on 31 October 2019.
Exal Group, the aluminum can maker acquired by Stonebridge Partners in 2010, combined with Ardagh Group's food and specialty metal packaging division in October 2019 to form Trivium Packaging, with Ardagh holding 43% and Ontario Teachers' and Stonebridge controlling 57%.
