Seven Group Holdings opened a new WesTrac heavy machinery facility in Casula, Western Sydney, built by AMP Capital, to support infrastructure projects.

Caterpillar and Rio Tinto signed an agreement to retrofit 19 Cat 793F mining trucks for autonomous operation at the Marandoo iron ore mine in Western Australia. The first trucks will be retrofitted in mid-2018, with completion by end of 2019.

Seven Group Holdings has agreed to sell its WesTrac China division to Lei Shing Hong Machinery for $540 million. The sale allows Seven Group to reallocate capital to Australia, including investment in the local WesTrac business.

WesTrac sold a Cat 6060 mining shovel to the Anglo Gold Macmahon Alliance's Tropicana Gold Mine in Western Australia. The shovel was procured for expansion works at the $740 million gold mine.
