Fives was awarded an EPC contract by Giant Cement Co. to revamp a cement ball mill workshop at its Harleyville, South Carolina plant, including engineering, supply, and commissioning.

Elementia, SAB de CV acquired a 55% controlling stake in Giant Cement Holding Inc., USA, from Cementos Portland Valderrivas SA for US$220 million, adding three plants with 2.8Mta capacity, three limestone quarries, two aggregates quarries, and six cement terminals.
