Metso has won an order to deliver two Metso truck bodies and rubber bed liners for five more haul trucks to Boliden's Aitik copper mine in Gällivare, Sweden.

Boliden has decided to invest SEK 350 million to increase capacity at its Rönnskär copper smelter in Sweden. The investment will boost raw material processing capacity by 12%, with commissioning expected in early 2021.

Boliden has agreed with Komatsu to purchase 17 haul trucks for Kevitsa and 9 for Aitik, a total investment of SEK 900 million. The trucks are prepared for future electrification.

Atlas Copco Rock Drills AB was named coordinator of the European Consortium on Sustainable Intelligent Mining Systems (SIMS), a €16 million Horizon 2020 initiative with 11 partners from Sweden, Finland, Germany and Poland.

Boliden selected Metso to supply equipment for a new surface crushing station at the Aitik copper mine in Sweden, including two primary gyratory crushers, rock breakers, apron feeders, and conveyors.
