Briggs Equipment executed a purchase agreement to acquire Hitec Lift Trucks Ltd, an independent dealer based in Wellingborough, UK. Completion is expected by 1 June 2018.

Briggs Equipment, a Cannock-based asset management company, acquired Irish Lift Trucks (ILT), a Dublin-based dealer of Hyster materials handling equipment serving the Republic of Ireland. The acquisition allows Briggs to expand into the Irish market.

Envirowales invested in 11 counterbalance diesel forklifts from Yale, supplied by Briggs Equipment, valued at £350,000, on a 48-month rental contract with maintenance support. The forklifts will replace existing machines and add capacity at its battery recycling plant in Ebbw Vale.

Briggs Equipment US acquired substantially all the assets of MacKinnon Equipment & Services, adding five branches in Florida and Georgia to its material handling business. The transaction closed on June 30, 2017.
