Leroy-Somer

M.L.S. Holice, part of the Leroy Somer group, plans to expand its alternator factory in Olomouc with a 5,636 sqm addition. The project will create about 80 new jobs and add three impregnation lines, pending permits, with construction targeted for 2019.

Leroy-Somer has announced the expansion of its LSA 44.3 and TAL 044 product lines, reaching 200 kVA in power with improved efficiency and compactness. The new models are the result of several years of R&D and incorporate 8 patents.

US automation group Emerson Electric agreed to acquire the Valves & Controls business of Pentair, headquartered in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, for $3.15 billion. Emerson expects its share of the process automation market to rise from 7% to nearly 10%.

Nidec has completed its $1.2 billion purchase of Emerson Electric's motors, drives and power generation businesses, including Control Techniques and Leroy-Somer.
