Sonoco agreed to buy 100 percent of Clear Lam Packaging, a family-held maker of high barrier flexible and forming plastic films, for about $170 million in cash. Clear Lam operates in Elk Grove Village, Illinois and Nanjing, China, and closing is expected in Q3 2017.
