Global Wafers Co. Ltd. announced the successful completion of its acquisition of SunEdison Semiconductor. The combined entity will expand Global Wafers' production capabilities and global customer base.

GlobalWafers completed its acquisition of NASDAQ-listed SunEdison Semiconductor Ltd for US$683 million, making GlobalWafers the third-largest silicon wafer supplier globally with a 17% market share.

SunEdison Semiconductor's shareholders approved the acquisition by GlobalWafers in an all-cash transaction valued at US$683 million, including net indebtedness. The deal is expected to close before December 31, 2016.
