Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. entered into a definitive agreement to acquire shares in Vehicle Energy Japan Inc., a lithium-ion battery manufacturer, making it a consolidated subsidiary. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.

Hitachi Ltd. will acquire 80.1% of ABB's Power Grids unit for $11 billion, with plans to close in the first half of 2020.

Harmonic Drive Systems and Innovation Network Corporation of Japan agreed to acquire the remaining 63.2% stake in Harmonic Drive AG, in a 60/40 split, for approximately €260 million. The deal is pending regulatory approval.
