French aero engine maker Safran launched an agreed $9 billion bid for seats manufacturer Zodiac Aerospace to create the world's third-largest aerospace supplier. The deal includes a cash offer of 29.47 euros per share, a 26% premium, with controlling family shareholders folding their shares into a subsequent merger.
