The European Commission cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the acquisition of sole control of the Schoeller Group by US firm Madison Dearborn Partners; closing is expected in Q3 2025.
Shareholders of Montreal-based sustainable packaging provider IPL Plastics agreed to the company's sale to an affiliate of Madison Dearborn Partners, reported September 29, 2020.
Madison Dearborn Partners funds agreed to acquire IPL Plastics Inc. from shareholders including CDPQ for approximately CAD 550 million on 28 July 2020. CDPQ will keep a minority stake of about 24.9%.
Sonoco signed an agreement to acquire Corenso Holdings America from Madison Dearborn Partners for about $110 million in cash. Corenso operates two Wisconsin Rapids facilities making paperboard cores and recycled board, and the deal is expected to close later in 2019.
