GIG Karasek, as EPC contractor, is delivering what is described as the world's most powerful industrial heat pump system for BASF at Ludwigshafen, with Piller Blowers & Compressors supplying 11 compressors. The project aims to produce CO2-free steam for formic acid production and cut related emissions by 98%.

GIG Karasek wins EPC contract for BASF Ludwigshafen industrial heat pump
GIG Karasek has been awarded an EPC contract by BASF SE to deliver a 50 MWth industrial heat pump system at the Ludwigshafen site in Germany, for CO2-free steam generation. The project is funded with up to €310 million and commissioning is scheduled for 2027.
