Albert Heijn will use Avantium's PEF polymer for various packaging, starting with fruit juice bottles produced by Refresco once Avantium's commercial plant in Delfzijl is operational.
Avantium signed a cooperation agreement with Albert Heijn to develop more sustainable packaging using its PEF bioplastic, with Refresco producing a new PEF fruit juice bottle for Albert Heijn's own-brand products. Financial details were not disclosed.
