Fanti Packaging of Bologna acquired a 60% stake in Ocm Imballaggi of Gruaro, Italy, which makes jars for Illycaffè. The founding D'Agnolo family keeps 30%, and Illycaffè raised its stake to 2%. All 220 employees were retained.
Gruppo Fanti celebrated the opening of Fanti USA, its first US manufacturing facility, in a former vacant building in the Half Moon Industrial Park in Weirton. The roughly $30 million investment is the company's largest expansion project, and production begins in the coming weeks.
