Stora Enso entered a strategic partnership with Matrix Pack to scale formed fiber packaging, acquired a minority stake in Matrix Pack and took a board seat.
Stora Enso has completed its acquisition of Finnish sawmill company Junnikkala Oy for up to EUR 137 million, including performance-based payments. The deal adds about 700,000 cubic metres of sawmilling capacity and supports its Oulu packaging board ramp-up.
PulPac licensed its Dry Moulded Fiber technology to Matrix Pack, a European maker of paper straws and biodegradable lids. Initial use focuses on hot and cold beverage lids in North America and Europe.
