Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) has awarded Liebherr a R2.2 billion (approximately US$132 million) contract for six new ship-to-shore (STS) cranes for Durban Container Terminal Pier 1. The contract was awarded on 30 June 2026 and covers manufacture, delivery, assembly, commissioning and handover.

Anglo American Platinum signed a contract with Topsoe for its WSA sulphur emissions control technology at its platinum smelter in Polokwane, South Africa, with Hatch handling engineering, procurement and construction management. The WSA plant will cut SO2 emissions from about 90,000 to under 1,200 mg/Nm3 and produce up to 148 t per day of sulfuric acid.

Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction signed a preliminary EPC agreement worth 1.15 trillion won (about $1.05 billion) with a Kepco-Marubeni consortium to supply boilers, turbines and other equipment for a 630 MW coal-fired plant in Lapalele, Limpopo. The filing was made on November 21, 2017.
