Ebara, through its Brazilian subsidiary Ebara Bombas America Do Sul, bought 80% of Asanvil S.A., a Uruguayan pump sales, assembly and after-sales service company, giving Ebara a new sales base in Uruguay.

Lugrama, a printing company focused on pharmaceutical packaging, is investing about US$6 million in a new plant on Ruta 101 in Canelones, Uruguay. The plant will double production capacity from 10 to 20 million cartons per month and add 15 jobs, with operations expected in August 2021.

ANDRITZ was selected by UPM to supply the main process equipment for a new 2.1 million tonne per year eucalyptus pulp mill near Paso de los Toros, Uruguay. Start-up is scheduled for the second half of 2022.
