Alzamora Group has acquired Lisbon-based packaging company Novotipo to strengthen its position in the domestic market and expand internationally. The combined group has a turnover of around 35 million euros.

Smurfit Kappa agreed to purchase Litbag, a Portuguese maker of multi-layer EVOH barrier films and a leader in the Portuguese wine packaging market, to strengthen its position in Southern Europe. Terms were not disclosed. The announcement was made on February 14, 2017.

DS Smith Plc has completed the acquisition of Gopaca, a well-invested corrugated producer located near Porto, Portugal, with about 135 employees.
