Pro-Pac Packaging Group agreed to acquire Polypak, an Auckland soft flexible packaging manufacturer and distributor, for NZ$8.8 million. The North Harbour plant employs 28 people.

New Zealand's Overseas Investment Office approved the sale of plastic container maker Sistema to Newell Brands for $660 million. Newell plans to keep manufacturing in New Zealand for 20 years at a new 52,000 sqm facility.

Newell Brands agreed to buy New Zealand-based Sistema Plastics for about $470 million and Virginia-based Smith Mountain Industries for $100 million, adding food storage and home fragrance brands.
