Scientex agreed to acquire a 42.41% stake in Daibochi through a share swap valued at RM222.5 million, with a mandatory general offer for the remaining stake under consideration.

Tomypak Holdings Bhd, via its subsidiary Tomypak Flexible Packaging, proposed to acquire a 70% equity interest in flexible plastic packaging firm EB Packaging Sdn Bhd for RM73.5 million, with completion expected in Q4 2023.

Wellcall Holdings and Trelleborg Holding signed a shareholders agreement on 15 January 2019 to form a Malaysian company making composite hose and fittings, with Trelleborg holding 51%. Initial capital is US$2.2 million and completion is expected by year end.

ASX-listed Secos Group signed a two-year lease, with an option for two more years, on a 30,000 sq ft facility about 19 km from Port Klang to expand bioplastic resin manufacturing, with resin production expected by June 2018.

Thong Guan Industries is investing about RM35 million to expand production in Sungai Petani, including a new nano-layered stretch film line starting in September 2017 and more PVC food-wrap lines.
