Seiko NSK plans to invest 30 billion yen over five years to increase production of bearings for electric vehicles, including at its Ishibe Plant in Konan City, Shiga Prefecture. The plan was reported on 29 December 2022.

Kanto Seiki announced a new building at its Eda factory in Maebashi, Gunma, to raise production capacity and productivity, with about ¥700 million investment and completion planned for August 2023.

Harmonic Drive Systems will invest about JPY6.5bn (USD70 million) at its Ariake plant in Nagano Prefecture to raise strain wave gear output from 150,000 to 220,000 units per month by August 2022.
