Resilux Ibérica Packaging is expanding its PET preform and packaging plant in Higuera la Real, adding capacity, storage and multilayer preform products with an investment above EUR 28 million. The works began in 2022 and completion is expected in 2025, creating 35 permanent jobs.

Ondupet, which makes rPET packaging, is investing 11 million euros to expand its plant in Almendralejo, Extremadura, and plans to grow its workforce from 65 to 110.

Spanish garbage bag maker Saplex invested EUR 3.6 million to expand its factory in Canovelles, Barcelona by 4,000 square metres. The expansion was reported in its 2020 results.

Virospack, a maker of cosmetic droppers, recently started up a new production unit of 14,000 square meters in Badalona near Barcelona, with latest-generation machinery and automated production lines.

SAMCA has started operations at its EUR 84 million expansion of the Brilén plant in Barbastro, doubling PET production capacity to 250,000 tonnes. The project created 200 jobs during installation and is partly funded by the Aragon government.
