Smurfit Westrock completed its first acquisition as a combined company by buying Cartomanabi, a corrugated packaging producer in Montecristi, Ecuador, adding over 50,000 metric tons of annual capacity.

Smurfit Westrock acquired Cartomanabi in Ecuador, expanding its Latin American footprint. The deal was reported in May 2026.

Atlas Copco Group has acquired Emcovele S.A., a compressor distributor with 49 employees offering sales and service of compressed air technology in Quito and Guayaquil, Ecuador. The purchase price was not disclosed. The announcement was made on 2 July 2024.

Fadesa Manta, part of the Vilaseca group, opened a new packaging plant in Manabí province, Ecuador, with an investment of more than $20 million, expected to create over 200 jobs and raise production capacity by 30%.
