Duravant LLC signed a definitive agreement to acquire Pattyn Group BV, a Bruges-based designer and manufacturer of packaging automation systems for bag-in-box and other packaging applications. The deal value was not disclosed.

Belgian dairy Solarec is replacing its production lines with four SIG Midi 12 aseptic filling machines and packaging supplied by SIG. The first machine was installed in Q3 2023.

Alfa Laval signed an agreement to acquire Desmet, which engineers and supplies processing plants and technologies for edible oils and biofuels. Desmet is headquartered in Brussels and employs around 1,000 people.

KHS Group and Martens Brewery in Belgium developed a film-free Nature MultiPack of six 0.5-liter recyclate PET bottles for Karlskrone beer, sold through a German discounter. The packaging removes shrink film to cut plastic waste and CO2 emissions.
