Effective January 1, 2018, WIKA acquires Hirschmann MCS, a business unit of Hirschmann Automation and Control owned by Belden, which becomes WIKA Mobile Control with sites in Ettlingen, Chambersburg and a China joint venture.

Emerson chairman and CEO David N. Farr has proposed in a letter to acquire all outstanding shares of Rockwell Automation at a total enterprise value of about $29 billion, with the combined company to be renamed Emerson Rockwell.

Emerson agreed on October 18, 2017 to acquire Paradigm for a purchase price of $510 million, a multiple of 13 times expected 2017 EBITDA.

Fluid power distributor Triad Technologies of Vandalia, Ohio acquired Cincinnati-based industrial automation and sensing distributor Rilco Industrial Controls and its subsidiaries.

Rocsole and Flowrox are setting up the joint venture Flowrox Automation, headquartered in Kuopio, Finland, to manufacture and distribute Rocsole's Scaling Watch pipe scaling measurement solution. Flowrox's owner Capillary Oy will also buy a share of Rocsole.

AFGlobal, a Houston oil and gas OEM, acquired Advanced Measurement Inc., a Calgary-based provider of automation, controls and data management systems, previously a subsidiary of Key Energy Services. The deal was announced July 6, 2017.

Emerson completed its purchase of MYNAH Technologies, a dynamic simulation and operator training software provider, to support Emerson Automation Solutions. Terms were not disclosed.

Exotic Automation & Supply, a Michigan fluid power distributor, acquired Sidener Engineering, a Noblesville, Indiana fluid power and safety products distributor; Amherst Partners advised the buyer.

Sumitomo Heavy Industries has acquired Wakefield, Massachusetts-based Persimmon Technologies, adding vacuum robotics and Hybrid-Field electric motor technology to its portfolio.

Emerson said it expects final US FTC and Mexican regulatory approval for its acquisition of Pentair's Valves & Controls business, and will divest a non-material business to secure clearance. Closing is expected by the end of April 2017.

Ohio Transmission Corporation, an industrial equipment distributor based in Columbus, Ohio, acquired C & C Industrial Sales (Gallatin, Tennessee) and Midway Industrial Supply (Minneapolis, Minnesota). Both become divisions of OTP Industrial Solutions, which sells spray finishing, sealant, adhesive, automation and fluid power systems.

Harmonic Drive Systems and Innovation Network Corporation of Japan agreed to acquire the remaining 63.2% stake in Harmonic Drive AG, in a 60/40 split, for approximately €260 million. The deal is pending regulatory approval.

Italian pneumatic and hydraulic component makers Airwork and Tecnofluid have combined into A&T Fluid Solutions srl, with a new production site in Carate Brianza. Orders and customer relations are handled by the merged company from 1 October 2024.
