Germany's KSB Group announced plans for a major manufacturing facility in Pakistan, described as Germany's largest direct investment there. The announcement was made in Islamabad during a meeting with Pakistan's investment minister. No amount or site was given.

Weir Group has been awarded a £53m contract to supply HPGRs, screens, slurry pumps and hydrocyclones for Barrick's Reko Diq copper-gold project in Chagai, Balochistan, with the first £26m call-off booked immediately.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi inaugurated the first of three new units at the Tarbela hydropower plant on 2018-03-10. Voith supplies the electromechanical equipment, valued at around EUR 200 million, for the fourth expansion for WAPDA, which raises output to 4,888 MW.
