Kaneka Corporation has decided to significantly increase production capacity for its PHBH biodegradable polymer Green Planet in Japan, with further capacity planned in Europe and America.

Food tray maker Efupico will invest about 2.7 billion yen to expand processing and moulding equipment for food containers made from used PET bottles. It plans to raise capacity by 20% within fiscal 2020.

Toyo Seikan Group's subsidiary Toyo Seikan will build a new plant building at its Toyohashi factory in Aichi Prefecture to make plastic pouches and cups, with total investment of about 9 billion yen including capacity equipment. Completion is planned for March 2020.
