Toyo Seikan announced on 27 May 2020 a total investment of about ¥12 billion to add automated aluminum two-piece can manufacturing equipment at its Ishioka plant in Ibaraki, with start-up from April 2021.

Food tray maker Efupico will invest about 2.7 billion yen to expand processing and moulding equipment for food containers made from used PET bottles. It plans to raise capacity by 20% within fiscal 2020.

Toyo Seikan Group's subsidiary Toyo Seikan will build a new plant building at its Toyohashi factory in Aichi Prefecture to make plastic pouches and cups, with total investment of about 9 billion yen including capacity equipment. Completion is planned for March 2020.
