Indopoly Swakarsa Industry allocated about US$100 million for a capacity expansion of BOPP and BOPET films. It will add two BOPP machines in Purwakarta, Indonesia and Suzhou, China, raising annual capacity from 100,000 to 165,000 tons, and two metalizing machines, targeted to be operational by end-2024.

PT Inocycle Technology Group completed construction of a new factory building in Medan, Indonesia, to produce recycled polyester staple fiber from PET bottle waste. Commercial operations are expected by end of March 2023, adding about 15% to total capacity.

TBM Co., Ltd. signed a sales agreement supplying its LIMEX Pellet injection-molding grade to PT. Kemas Indah Maju, Indonesia's largest cosmetic container molding manufacturer. The pellet is used as a substitute for ABS and PP in cosmetic containers. The announcement is dated December 8, 2021.

Vishakha Polyfab's joint venture PT Flextech Packaging with Wilmar started up a flexible packaging plant in Indonesia in January 2021, with full commissioning expected by the end of February 2021. The plant has an initial capacity of 13,500 metric tons.

Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia signed a Heads of Agreement with Dynapack Asia to develop a bottle-to-bottle grade PET recycling facility in Indonesia, starting with a proof of concept phase. The recycling could cut new plastic resin use by about 25,000 tonnes a year by 2022.

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, through subsidiary PT MC PET Film Indonesia, is building a new polyester film plant with 25,000 tons per year capacity and a US$130 million investment. Construction is targeted for completion by end of 2021.

Panca Budi Idaman (PBID) plans to start building a new plastics and packaging plant in Pemalang, Central Java in Q1 2019 on 12 hectares bought for about Rp40 billion, with completion targeted by year end.

PT Pelangi Indah Canindo (PICO) is set to realize its fourth factory in Cikupa, Tangerang, producing plastic drum packaging, with German machinery being installed, funded by about Rp 60 billion capex from loans and internal cash.
