Sumitomo Corporation, through subsidiary Aver Asia (S) Pte Ltd, acquired 100% of PT Resource Equipment Indonesia, a rental and sales provider of large pumps for Indonesian mining sites. The deal enters Sumitomo into the mining pump market in Indonesia.

Metso Outotec signed an engineering, technology and licence contract worth about EUR 360 million ($424 million) to supply a copper smelter complex in Gresik, East Java, for PT Freeport Indonesia. The smelter is expected to be commissioned in 2024.
