GE Vernova has secured a major order from Sonelgaz, supplied through their joint venture GE Algeria Turbines, for high voltage equipment and grid automation for 134 substations by 2028. Integration will take place at GEAT's Ain Yagout facility in Batna.

Baker Hughes has secured a major contract from Sonatrach for a gas-boosting project at the Hassi R'Mel gas field, supplying 20 compression trains based on Frame 5 gas turbine and BCL compressor technology. The work is part of a broader order to a Baker Hughes and Tecnimont consortium, reported on 24 May 2024.

Weir Valves & Controls UK won an order worth about USD 1.1 million to supply 100 control and butterfly valves for the combined cycle Kais gas-fired power station in northeast Algeria, to be made in South Korea and the UK.

GE signed a multi-year services contract worth more than $3 billion with Sonelgaz SPE, covering operations and maintenance for 10 power plants in Algeria. The deal includes efficiency upgrades, digital solutions and local spare parts manufacturing.

GE signed a long-term operations and maintenance services agreement with Sonelgaz SPE covering 10 Sonelgaz power plants with 11 GW of generation in Algeria. The deal also includes an energy efficiency capacity building system and digital solutions.
