Cardbox Packaging announced a €6.5 million investment in its new Czech subsidiary to buy a Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 printing press and a Bobst Visioncut 106 LER die-cutter. The investment aims to raise production efficiency and capacity.

Smurfit Kappa is investing €20 million in new converting equipment at four plants: Žebrák, Žimrovice and Olomouc in the Czech Republic, and Štúrovo in Slovakia. The investment adds over 100 million regular and offset printed boxes per year and is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

Canpack announced a new investment in the Czech Republic, where a can production line will be launched to supply the Plzensky Prazdroj brewery, owner of Pilsner Urquell, in 2019.
