SCG Packaging (SCGP) signed a joint development agreement with US-based Origin Materials to develop bioplastic from eucalyptus wood chips. The bioplastic project is being carried out in Canada, with results expected in the current quarter.

NOVA Chemicals signed a long-term agreement with Merlin Plastics, Canada's largest plastics recycler, to increase supply of post-consumer recyclate for consumer packaging. NOVA is also providing financing for a multi-million dollar recycling project.

Canada Fibers Ltd. and Enviroplast have entered an exclusive supply agreement under which CFL will supply post-consumer plastic film to Enviroplast's recycling plants for making recycled LDPE pellets.
