Waterford, Ireland-based Schivo acquired APN Global and its subsidiary APN Inc., a Quebec maker of AFP valves, fittings and tubing for analytical instruments and minimally invasive surgical devices. The Quebec site will become Schivo's manufacturing centre of excellence.

AMD Medicom announced a new subsidiary, Manikheir Canada, to produce nitrile gloves in London, Ontario. The investment is over CAD 120 million and is expected to create 145 direct jobs, backed by an Ontario government purchasing commitment.

Calian Group has been awarded a contract by the SNC-Lavalin PAE joint venture to support delivery of up to ten 100-bed Mobile Respiratory Care Units for the Government of Canada, with first-phase value expected at $22 million to $26 million.
