MDA Space selects Tesat to build 792 lasercom terminals for Telesat Lightspeed

MDA Space of Canada has selected Germany's Tesat to provide 792 laser communications terminals for Telesat's 198-satellite Lightspeed broadband constellation, which MDA is building. The award was announced on May 28, 2024.

“It is the first large-volume commercial award for LCTs and a justification for Tesat's decision to expand its production capacity in Backnang, Germany, to handle orders of up to 2,000 units per year.”spaceintelreport.com
