# SMS Equipment delivers first Komatsu PC9000 excavator to Suncor's Fort Hills mine

Komatsu and SMS Equipment handed over a PC9000 hydraulic mining excavator to Suncor's Fort Hills mine in Alberta. The 900-metric-ton-class machine is the largest hydraulic shovel for surface mining. Suncor will receive a second PC9000 in July 2025 and more in 2026.
