# Covestro breaks ground on new TPU production site in Zhuhai, China

Covestro broke ground on a new Thermoplastic Polyurethanes (TPU) production site in Zhuhai, China. The site will be built in three phases, with first phase capacity of about 30,000 tons per year (mechanical completion estimated for 2025) and maximum capacity of 120,000 tons per year after final phase (expected completion 2033). Initial investment is in the mid double-digit million Euro range.
