# RWE signs contract with Tecnicas Reunidas, Ansaldo Energia for hydrogen-ready power plant in Germany

RWE has signed a contract with a consortium of Tecnicas Reunidas and Ansaldo Energia to develop an 800 MW hydrogen-ready combined cycle power plant at its Weisweiler site near Cologne, Germany. The plant will use Ansaldo Energia's GT36 turbine capable of operating with up to 50% hydrogen, with potential for 100% hydrogen.
