# Vale orders three FLXdrive battery locomotives from Wabtec for Carajás railway

Brazilian mining company Vale has ordered three FLXdrive battery locomotives from Wabtec for deployment on the Carajás railway (EFC) in Maranhão, Brazil. Delivery is scheduled for 2026. Vale and Wabtec will also collaborate on a study of ammonia as a clean alternative fuel.
