# Metsä Tissue invests EUR 370 million to modernise and expand Mariestad mill

Metsä Group, through Metsä Tissue, has decided to invest EUR 370 million to modernise and expand its Mariestad tissue paper mill in Sweden, doubling capacity to approximately 145,000 t/a with a new tissue paper machine of 70,000 t/a. Construction starts in spring 2023 and the mill is planned to be operational in the second half of 2025.
