# Salzgitter AG orders electric arc furnace from Primetals Technologies

Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH signed a contract with Primetals Technologies for the engineering, supply and erection of the first electric arc furnace for the SALCOS low-CO2 steelmaking project in Salzgitter, Germany. The EAF will have an annual capacity of 1.9 million tonnes of crude steel, with production slated to start at the end of 2025.
