# Semcorp starts construction of lithium-ion battery separator film plant in Hungary

Semcorp Group has begun construction of its first production unit outside China in Debrecen, Hungary, to produce lithium-ion battery separator films. The investment is nearly EUR 184 million and will create 440 jobs. Production is expected to launch in Q1 2023.
