# Nexperia to expand European wafer fabs and R&D centers

Nexperia plans to improve production efficiency and implement new 200mm technologies at its European wafer fabs in Hamburg, Germany and Manchester, UK, with additional investment in wide bandgap semiconductor manufacturing in Hamburg. It also opened new R&D centers in Penang, Malaysia and Shanghai, China, and expanded existing R&D sites in Hong Kong, Hamburg and Manchester.
