# Valmet Automotive expands battery production and engineering in Germany and Finland

Valmet Automotive is expanding its engineering activities in Munich and Bad Friedrichshall, Germany, and started construction of a battery factory in Uusikaupunki, Finland in January 2021. Mass production of high-voltage systems is expected to start in the second half of 2021. The expansion was announced on February 9, 2021.
