Dutch paints and coatings maker Akzo Nobel made a €1.4 billion offer to acquire Finnish peer Tikkurila at €31.25 per share, topping PPG's bid. Akzo Nobel plans to sell Tikkurila's Nordic and Baltic decorative paints business to Hempel after closing.
