Alstom completed five years since winning a €3.5 billion contract from Indian Railways to supply 800 electric locomotives of 12,000 HP. A joint venture set up a manufacturing facility in Madhepura, Bihar, with a production capacity of 120 locomotives per annum. 50 locomotives have been delivered so far.
