Sanan Optoelectronics broke ground on a third-generation semiconductor R&D and industrialization park in Changsha, Hunan, with a total investment of 16 billion yuan ($2.3 billion). The 1,000-mu (66.7-hectare) facility will produce SiC substrates, epitaxy, chips and packaging, creating 12,000 jobs.
