# Showa Denko expands high-purity gas production in Shanghai and Taiwan

Showa Denko will build a second factory in Shanghai to produce high-purity nitrous oxide and octafluorocyclobutane, and a new facility in Taiwan for high-purity octafluorocyclobutane. Total investment is about 3 billion yen. Shanghai operations start in second-half 2021; Taiwan in spring 2020.
